Japanese movie showing event

Talking Pictures: Contemporary Japanese Film and Discussion

The Center for Japanese Studies, the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii, and the Consulate General of Japan at Honolulu will be co-hosting a movie showing event ‘Talking Pictures: Contemporary Japanese Film and Discussion’.  The featured movie will be ‘The Harimaya Bridge’ (Aaron Woolfolk, 2009).  Mr. Woolfolk, the director and the screenwriter of the movie, will be a panelist discussing such themes as cross-cultural communication with Dr. Christine Yano of the Anthropology Department, University of Hawaii at Mānoa.  It will be a rare opportunity to hear the behind-the-scenes story from the director.  To reserve seats, please call 543-3127 and inform us of your name(s).  Please note that the seats are limited and it will be on a first-come-first- served basis.  We hope to see you there.
