Hawaii Educational Travel Guide

On April 17, 2011, Consul General Kamo and Vice Consul Nanbu attended a reception celebrating the publication of the Hawaii Educational Travel Guide, produced jointly by Hawaii Tourism Japan (HTJ), the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce (HJCC) and the Japan Hawaii Travel Association (JHTA). Many members of the tourism industry attended the reception to celebrate the book launch which came to fruition with the involvement of many industry members. Lieutenant Governor Brian Schatz who attended the event, expressed his hope that the Hawaii Educational Travel Guide will entice school excursions from Japan to Hawaii. Consul General Kamo made a speech congratulating everyone who worked on this U.S.-Japan joint project. He also stated that he believes that much of its future success will depend on how effectively the travel guide is utilized and urged everyone to continue to work together to make this project a big success.
