Japan Exchange and Teaching Program
 
The Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET) seeks to help enhance internationalization in Japan by promoting mutual understanding between Japan and other nations. The program aims to enhance foreign language education in Japan, and to promote international exchange at the local level by fostering ties between Japanese youth and foreign youth.
 
Hawaii-Okinawa Student Exchange Program
The official purposes of the Hawaii-Okinawa Student Exchange program are to:
  1. Provide students with the opportunity to learn, first hand, about the diverse cultures of other countries of the world.
  2. Foster and sustain good relationships and cultural exchanges between foreign countries and the State of Hawaii.
  3. Foster a sense of global awareness in today's youth.
High school students home stay (9th through 10th grade)
Program period 2 weeks in June
Approximate costs Airfare $1000 + personal spending money

  Fulbright Memorial Fund
  Every year since 1997, school teachers and administrators representing each of the fifty states and the District of Columbia visit Japan as participants on the Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program. Six hundred program participants are divided into three groups and each 200-member-group visits Japan for a few weeks in June, October or November every year.
