Lecture by Hakuoh University Vice President Osamu Kitayama

“Psychoanalytical Observations of Japanese Ukiyo-e Mother-Child Relations Past and Present”

On September 2nd, Hakuoh University and Hawaii University joint sponsored a lecture by Hakuoh University Vice President Osamu Kitayama at the Consul General’s official residence. Professor Kitayama focused on the relationships portrayed between mothers and their children in Ukiyo-e art, and discussed in length about parent-child relations then and now.
This year Hakuoh University celebrated 100 years since its foundation. Since the beginning of the exchange relationship with Hawaii in 1975, over 3,000 students have participated in the Hawaii study program.
