The Foreign Minister’s Commendation in Honor of the 70th Anniversary of the End of World War II
On February 11, an award ceremony was held at the Official Residence of the Consul General of Japan to present the Foreign Minister’s Commendation in tribute to the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. On the day of the ceremony, Consulate General Misawa awarded the Commendation to Ms. Yuko O’Reilly, one of two Commendation recipients from the region, for her contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and Hawaii.
The Foreign Minister’s Commendation in tribute to the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II was awarded to 42 individuals and associations from both Japan and the United States in order to encourage support and recognition by the public for their outstanding achievements promoting friendship between Japan and the United States.
The other presentation of the Commendation from this region was awarded to Mr. Daigoro Watanabe (formerly Takamiyama) on December 24 of last year at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Japan by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Yoji Muto for his contribution to the promotion of friendship between Japan and Hawaii as a pioneer for foreign sumo wrestlers.
