Representative Scott Saiki, Hawaii Chairperson of the Japan-Hawaii Legislators’ Friendship Association, Offers His Condolences Regarding the Kumamoto Earthquake

   On the morning of April 26, Representative Scott Saiki, Majority Leader and Hawaii Chairperson of the Japan-Hawaii Legislators’ Friendship Association, visited the Official Residence of the Consul General to offer his sympathy for those affected by the Kumamoto Earthquake and to sign a condolence book.

   Representative Saiki expressed his condolences to Consul General Misawa and personally delivered official letters conveying those sentiments to Mr. Hiromi Yoshida, member of the House of Councillors (Liberal Democratic Party) and Japan Chairperson of the Japan-Hawaii Legislators’ Friendship Association, and others. Consul General Misawa conveyed his gratitude to Representative Saiki, and provided an explanation on the situation in the disaster area.
