Welcoming IUCN Goodwill Ambassador IRUKA

From September 1-10, the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) held this year's World Conservation Congress, an event hosted once every four years, at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu. The event attracted over 9,000 participants from 192 countries. Japanese singer IRUKA, who has been a Goodwill Ambassador for IUCN since 2004, came to Hawaii and performed on July 6 at the Hawaii Convention Center and on July 7 at the Consul General's Official Residence. IRUKA takes an active role in promoting the conservation of nature, and composed a song titled "We Love You Planet! Echo to our Planet" in order to spread the message of IUCN.
