Gannenmono Wrap Up Reception
On March 1st, the reception for the Kabuki Hawaii 2019 group was held to wrap up the 150th commemoration of the arrival of first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii (Gannenmono) at Consul General Ito’s official residence. Honored guests including Mr. Shikan Nakamura, Mr. Richo Tobaya, and Mr. Sanemon Tobaya from the Kabuki group, as well as Former Governor George Ariyoshi, Mr. Mike McCartney (Director of DBEDT), Rear Admiral Matthew Carter (Deputy Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet), Honolulu city council members, and representatives from local organizations.
