Consulate Activities

On Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Consul General’s official residence, Dr. Robert N. Huey was conferred the Imperial Decoration, The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, for his contributions to the development of Japanese studies in the United States and strengthening the friendly relationship and mutual understanding between Japan and the United States. Since 1985, Dr. Huey has played an important role in the field of Japanese literature and languages at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa.
