CG Aoki visited Japanese Cultual Center of Hawaii

On October 29th, CG Aoki visited Japanese Cultual Center of Hawaii (JCCH). President Emeritus Carole Hayashino warmly welcomed Consul General and explained to him about the Japanese-American experience and traditions in Hawaii.

At the Japanese consulate, there are some old immigration records and if descendants submit a written request, we may be able to provide them the copy of their family record, if the family record exists. Additionally, JCCH provides support in translating them in to English.

CG Aoki also visited the exibition, "Okage Sama De", a Japanese-American historical gallery at the JCCH. “Okage Sama De” translates to "I am what I am because of you", which shows appreciation to one’s ancestors.  CFO Jamie Lee and Collection Manager Audrey Muramoto also explained about the plantation life of the immigrants and their communities at that time.
