Port Call by JS KASHIMA with Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Training Squadron and Consul General Aoki’s Lecture
As part of their Overseas Training Cruise 2021, JS Kashima and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Training Squadron arrived at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on Wednesday, September 30th. After a three-day visit, Kashima left port to carry out its training program on Sunday, October 3rd.
JS Kashima is manned by a full crew of approx. 310 personnel, including approx.110 trainees who recently graduated from the 71st General Officer Candidate Course in March.
JS Kashima embarked on the second leg of its Overseas Training Cruise from its homeport of Kure, Hiroshima on August 25th followed by a short stop at Yokosuka. Before arriving at Pearl Harbor, the vessel made port calls at Nome and Dutch Harbor in the United States, and after departing Honolulu, it heads to the Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia. JS Kashima is scheduled to return to Kure on October 27th.
