2022 Monbukagakusho Japanese Studies Student Scholarship Award Presentation Ceremony

The Consulate General of Japan held an Award Presentation Ceremony for the 2022 Monbukagakusho (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology) Japanese Studies (Nihongo Nihonbunka Kenshuu Ryuugakusei) Scholarship on Thursday, August 30, 2022. This year, a total to four students from the United States, including two from Honolulu, were selected by the embassy and consulates to receive this prestigious scholarship. 
 
Japanese Studies Student (Nihongo Nihon Bunka Kenshu Ryugakusei) Scholarship:
 
  • Ms. Liv Peralta, an undergraduate student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, will study Japanese language and culture at Keio University in Tokyo from October, 2022 through July, 2023.
 
  • Ms. Kylie Higashionna, an undergraduate student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, will study Japanese language and culture at Keio University in Tokyo from October, 2022 through July, 2023
