Visit by Fukuoka Prefectural Fisheries High School

On October 17, the Consulate-General hosted guests from Fukuoka Prefectural Fisheries High School. The guests included Vice Principal KOMINAMI Katsuyoshi, Training vessel Kaiyu-maru Captain TOTOKI Hirokazu and two student representatives. Fifty-four trainees from the school departed mid-September from Japan to spend a month at sea for longline tuna fishing training. Hawaii was their last port of call during this training program. During their five day stay in Honolulu, they engaged in exchange with students from James Campbell High School and went study tour before returning to Fukuoka. Consul-General Kodama expressed his hopes to the students that they will continue to hone their skills and foreign language ability so they can become active players in the world.
