2024 Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Japanese Studies Student Scholarship Award Presentation Ceremony

The Consulate General of Japan in Honolulu held an Award Presentation Ceremony for the 2024 Monbukagakusho (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology) Japanese Studies (Nihongo Nihonbunka Kenshuu Ryuugakusei) Scholarship on Thursday, August 15, 2024. This year, a total of four students from the United States, including two from Honolulu, were selected by the Japanese embassy and consulates to receive this prestigious scholarship.
 
Japanese Studies Student (Nihongo Nihon Bunka Kenshu Ryugakusei) Scholarship:
 
  • Mr. Marques Batoon, an undergraduate student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, will study Japanese language and culture at Doshisha University in Kyoto prefecture from October, 2024 through August, 2025.
 
  • Mr. Koy Yoshizumi, an undergraduate student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, will study Japanese language and culture at Keio University in Tokyo from October, 2024 through July, 2025.
