2024 Consul General’s Commendation Conferment Ceremony for Ms. Keiko Arikawa


On December 10, 2024, at the Official Residence of the Consul General, the 2024 Consul General’s Commendation was conferred to Mrs. Keiko Arikawa, in recognition of her efforts to promoting regional exchanges and strengthening the bond of friendship between Japan and the United States.
As the longtime president of the Shufu Society of Hawaii, an organization dedicated to promoting Japanese culture through cross-cultural experiences, Ms. Arikawa has tirelessly worked to build lasting ties of goodwill between Japan and Hawaii. Her contributions to the community of Hawaii include hosting medical seminars and fundraising projects for local organizations and promoting educational initiatives.
During the ceremony, Consul General Kodama delivered a congratulatory message, praising Mrs. Arikawa for her significant contributions to community service and cultural exchange, as well as her efforts in strengthening the bond between Hawaii and Japan. In her speech, Mrs. Arikawa expressed her immense gratitude for receiving this prestigious award, which she regarded as the culmination of her years of dedication.
