Community Day at Queen Ka'ahumanu Elementary School

On April 17, the Consulate General of Japan joined the 2025 Community Day at Queen Ka'ahumanu Elementary School. This annual event is organized with the cooperation of various local organizations, including the State of Hawaii, the Hawaii State Legislature, and the Honolulu Police Department, among others, and serves as a valuable opportunity to strengthen community engagement. At the Consulate’s booth, Consulate staff talked with students about Japan while demonstrating Japanese origami folding and Japanese toys such as Kendama, which were enjoyed by many of the students. 400 students participated in the event, making it a lively and meaningful day.
