2026 Consul-General’s Commendation Conferment Ceremony

On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, a presentation ceremony for the Consul-General Commendation was held at the Consul-General’s Residence in Honolulu to honor Ms. Reiki Hirayama, a teacher at Rainbow Gakuen.
 
Ms. Hirayama has, for many years, promoted mutual understanding and friendly relations between Japan and the United States, along with making significant contributions to the education of Japanese children living abroad.
 
At the ceremony, Consul-General Chotoku expressed his deep gratitude for Ms. Hirayama’s many years of dedicated service. This was followed by the reading and presentation of the commendation certificate, and a response speech by Ms. Hirayama. In her speech, she reflected on her past efforts and expressed appreciation to her fellow teachers, related parties, and the students she has taught.
