On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, the Consulate-General of Japan in Honolulu participated in “Community Day” held at Queen Kaahumanu Elementary School. This annual event is organized with the cooperation of various local organizations, including the State of Hawaiʻi, the State Legislature, the Honolulu City Council and the Honolulu Police Department, and provides an important opportunity to strengthen connections with the community.
At the Consulate’s booth, visitors enjoyed a corner where they could learn Japanese through quizzes, as well as experience traditional Japanese culture, including fukuwarai and kendama. More than 400 students participated, making it a lively and vibrant time for all.
