To all Hawaii State residents and Japanese citizens living in Hawaii,
It is a great honor and pleasure for me to be here as the new Consul General of Japan in Honolulu. Previously, I was assigned in China for five years at the Embassy of Japan in Beijing, China and the Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou. I am excited about my new position and would like to do my best to assist both the people of Japan and Hawaii in deepening and strengthening our friendship and various exchanges.
I have heard that Hawaii is such a diverse place, full of a rich variety of cultures, that I am looking forward to immersing myself in local culture and learning many new things during my time here.
Next year, we are going to commemorate the 150th year anniversary since the first Japanese immigrants came to Hawaii. We, at the Consulate, would like to work together with all of you to bring success as we celebrate this important milestone.
Thank you in advance for your kind support and cooperation.
