Thank you for the concern expressed following the Kumamoto Prefecture Earthquake.

Consulate General of Japan
 
a) The Consulate General of Japan in Honolulu does not, in principle, issue a receipt for donations. However, if you wish to obtain a receipt, please send an email to 2016kumamoto.jishin@hl.mofa.go.jp requesting a receipt and state the following:
  • You sent relief funds
  • Full name of sender
  • Amount of donation
  • Date of transfer
  • Bank of origin
*However, we will be unable to issue receipts for deposits made in cash at the bank because there will be no record of individual names.
 
b) Relief donations may be made in cash or by check. If paying with a check, please make it payable to “Consulate General of Japan” and mail it to the consulate.

c) After relief money is received by the Consulate General of Japan in Honolulu and sent to the account of the Government of Japan or to the Japanese Red Cross Society, the money will be delivered to the affected people through local government.
 
*Monies will be accepted in this account until March 31, 2017.
