Awamori Cocktail Contest, Paired Food Tasting Event to be Held at the Okinawan Festival (September 1-2, 2018)

The Consulate General of Japan, in cooperation with Hawaii United Okinawan Association, will sponsor an awamori cocktail competition and a paired food tasting event at the Okinawan Festival to be held at the Hawaii Convention Center on September 1st – 2nd , 2018. Bartenders from the 6 popular restaurants below will compete in the awamori cocktail competition and provide awamori cocktails and paired sampling food on September 1st (see time schedule below.)
It is a great opportunity to learn about the traditional distilled liquor of Okinawa and new ways to enjoy awamori while trying out food from popular restaurants. We look forward to seeing many of you at the event!

(1) Awamori Cocktail Challenge (competition)

(Free admission. No age restriction.)
(2) Awamori Cocktail and Paired Food Sampling Tasting
Saturday September 1st at 13:00 – 15:00
(Admission fee: $25. ID required to prove age.)
(3) Awamori Tasting
Saturday September 1st : 10:00 – 12:00, 15:00 – 17:00
Sunday September 2nd : 10:00 – 12:00, 13:00 – 15:00
Fee：$5. 2 brands of awamori will be provided in each session. ID required to prove age.
