The Consulate-General of Japan in Honolulu is currently accepting applications for a full-time staff position in the Public Information and Cultural Affairs section.

Work Hours
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday)
Holiday: Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays which are decided by the Consulate.
Period of employment
One-year fixed-term employment contract. (Contract renewable.)
(Starting date of work is negotiable.)
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
・Cultural affairs and public information-related assignments
・Preparation of speeches and reports
・Arrange cultural events and meetings
・General administrative work
Requirements
・Have U.S. citizenship, Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR), or Green Card. (Must have legal status to work in the U.S. No support for visas and work permissions will be provided.)
・English proficiency
・Japanese proficiency is a plus
・Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
・ Experience using social media (FB, Twitter) and website maintenance
・ Have interests in Japanese culture or the ability and willingness to do research.
・ Must have the flexibility to do occasional overtime work
Salary and Benefits
Commensurate with experience and subject to the regulations of the consulate.
Benefits include medical insurance as well as paid vacation days.
